Statement
Mourning ordinarily presupposes death.
But what should we call this phenomenon in which death does not exist?
One day, all contact with a friend suddenly ceased.
Without even knowing whether they are alive, only traces of them continue to remain on my smartphone.
This work is an attempt to construct a provisional form of mourning for this “state in which death cannot be established.”
While accepting the absence of an ending, it retraces the act of giving one.
The image, disintegrating irreversibly, settles as a reverberation, like a past that can never be restored.
